"The cause is sufficient." -- Surak

           Compare this picture …

This is as far as I got last nite. For the reason, read the post. <smiley face>
…with the first picture in my last post, and you’ll see that I didn’t get much done in my styling demonstration for the Master Gardeners last nite. But there’s a very good reason:
those who attended kept asking questions! Good questions, questions that showed they were listening and thinking about what they were hearing, questions that called for in-depth answers. When it comes to reasons for not finishing a demo, I can hardly think of a better one!
The attendance wasn’t as high as I would have liked, but those who came did so because they were genuinely interested. (And it was a weeknite.) Before starting on the demo, I gave some background information on bonsai in general, and then focused in on tropical species for bonsai. Besides the questions as I talked (and later worked,) there was some careful scrutiny of the specimens of different tropical species which I took along.
There was no one to take pictures (I didn't want to distract anyone in such an attentive audience,) so this is the only one.
And ... maybe one of these days I’ll get an email from one of those who attended, that will start off, “I decided to take the plunge, and …”
:-)  :-)  :-)
